Disregard the persona of Lohan and all the trappings of celebrity and modern life. I find this beautiful and reminiscent of Godard and his work on Contempt.

Andrew Paytner for 3.1 Phillip Lim Mens Fall 2011 Collection

I ran across this video on Monster Children by Andrew Paytner, a San Francisco based photographer (who unfortunately I was not familiar with), for 3.1 Phillip Lim's men's fall 2011 collection. I love the use of line, composition, palette and music. It's refreshing to stumble upon and share inspiring work after being absent from reading/following any of the blogs I usually keep up with.

REMAKING OF W MAGAZINE

This video on the rebranding of W Magazine reminds me of why I began working in print years ago. The creative process behind addressing an audience in one issue is a beautiful, stressful and involved process. I miss working closely with printed mediums on a daily basis. I've always loved Scorsese's lighting and story telling. At first I was skeptical of a Scorsese directed ad. The 1:01 run time of this ad is perfect. His lighting, styling, camera work and colors are on par with his other work. I love seeing an artist branch into a different medium while staying true to their stylistic vision.
